Financial Regulations

At the September 2024 meeting of the Parish Council, a new version of the Financial Regulations was approved. It was based on the Model Financial Regulations template produced by the National Association of Local Councils (NALC) in April 2024, and has been adapted to reflect the needs of Great Gransden Parish Council (‘the council’). In particular,

  • The council has both a clerk and an RFO;
  • The Council uses cheques for payments, but also uses online payment methods where necessary;
  • The council does not have delegated committees with budgets under their control;
  • The council accepts online prices as valid quotes, for those cases where multiple quotes are needed;and,
  • The full council will, on occasion, ask a councillor to place orders – for example, for IT equipment or services – and will assign a budget for such purchases.
